Since the departure of Nick Foligno to the Leafs on April 11th, and the subsequent signing of a deal with the Boston Bruins, the Columbus Blue Jackets had to name a new captain. Foligno has worn that badge with great pride for six seasons and whoever gets that badge, Boone Jenner, will have some big shoes to fill.
Jenner has been with the team for eight years and has recorded 240 points in 530 games. The 27-year-old power forward had his best campaign in 2015-16, when he reached the 30-goal plateau. Regardless of his point totals, Jenner remains a natural leader and has that culture, that Jackets attitude.
That said, Jenner will be assisted by Zach Werenski, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Gustav Nyquist, who will share the "A". A great group of leaders and they will have to keep Patrik Laine and Max Domi in line...
