The Laval Rocket announced that they have signed Quebec forward Kevin Roy to a one-season, one-way contract.

The Greenfield Park native winger will arrive in Laval with a good amount of experience in the NHL and AHL. He played a total of 28 games in the big league with the Anaheim Ducks, collecting six goals and one assist. In 218 AHL games with the San Diego Gulls, Springfield Thunderbirds, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, and Tucson Roadrunners, he accumulated 153 points, including 56 goals.

He was a fourth round pick of the Ducks in the 2012 NHL Draft.

Roy will bring a lot of talent to the Rocket lineup this year, hence his 30 points in 35 points last year. He may not have made it to the NHL on a regular basis, but he is a game changer at the lower levels. Jean-Francois Houle's team is already loaded with impact players in Jesse Ylonen, Alex Belzile and Ryan Poehling (maybe), so he'll only add another weapon to a team that's already loaded on offense.
