The Montreal Canadiens and forward Asen Khisamutdinov have decided to end their association.
The 23-year-old Russian was clearly not happy in the ECHL, he had only five points in ten games with the Trois-Rivières Lions.
The former sixth round pick of the Habs did not get along well with head coach Eric Belanger, so it must not have been easy for him to perform well.
However, he will have to go through waivers before the deal is officially terminated. It will be interesting to see if he will be claimed by another team or if he will take the option to return to his homeland.
