In the last few seconds, and minutes after completing their third preseason game, the Montreal Canadiens have just cut two players, including a name that surprises many:
"The Canadiens have cut forwards Riley Kidney and Joshua Roy to their respective junior teams." - Montreal Canadiens We didn't necessarily expect him to absolutely break into the CH's starting lineup, for the first game of the season, but it's pretty surprising to see Joshua Roy cut so "early" in camp, before the big waves of cuts.
With the finish to last year's campaign, it almost seemed like he had a chance to surprise in camp, but he didn't necessarily stand out (and that's nothing against him). Other youngsters, like Owen Beck, Emil Heineman and Filip Mesar, were simply better.
More details to follow!
