The NHL and the NHLPA have come to a consensus regarding the isolation of vaccinated players.
The isolation period will now be able to be five days instead of ten, in case of a negative test.
However, there are some restrictions:
- If the player in question develops a fever after the five days, he/she will have to remain isolated until he/she no longer has a fever.
- If the player has no symptoms or their symptoms disappear after the five days, they may leave isolation.
- The player will continue to wear a mask at all times for an additional five days in situations other than games or practice.
- The maximum capacity of the isolation will be ten days.
The problem with this? The Quebec government will never accept these measures proposed by the NHL. In la Belle Province, health restrictions are very severe and they are evolving rapidly.
It remains to be seen if Quebec premier François Legault will give a pass to the Montreal Canadiens players.
As a reminder, the isolation period for a positive case of COVID-19 is ten days in Quebec.
