Chosen in the 5th round by the Habs in 2021 draft, he has a amazing season with the Sherbrooke Phoenix with 58 points in 31 games, which put him tied with William Dufour at the top of the best scorers in the QMJHL.
Roy has been on a roll since the league resumed in early February. In his last four games, the Canadiens prospect has tallied an impressive eleven points, including a one-goal performance and two assists in Saturday's game against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
We recall that Joshua Roy came very close to being part of the Canadian team at the last World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton and that he could have another chance when the tournament resumes next August.
Are you impressed by the progression of Roy? Will he be part of Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton's future plans? He sure looks great right now!
#GoHabsGo Joshua Roy with his 20th goal of the year. Bit of a weird one, gets his own blocked shot and puts it in while trying to take it to the backhand. pic.twitter.com/rRAKjCHkS7 Matt Drake (@DrakeMT) February 13, 2022
