We told you about it a few days ago, Alexis Lafrenière was surprisingly dropped from the lineup by the New York Rangers. Clearly, things are getting worse for him in New York.
Trade rumors picking up.
That will have been enough for many analysts to speculate on possible trades involving Lafreniere.
This includes popular observer Brian Wilde, who raised a monster trade proposal involving the Rangers and Montreal Canadiens.
Here's his proposal again:
"Would you do Lafreniere for the Canadiens' first round pick, which is Florida's (meaning the Rangers could potentially win the lottery)?" - Brian Wilde
To the Canadiens - Alexis Lafreniere
To the Rangers - 2023 first-round pick of the Panthers
The verdict has officially come down, and over 5000 fans have spoken.
The poll is now closed, see the final result:
Are you surprised? More than 74% of respondents would refuse to give the Panthers' 2023 first round pick for Alexis Lafreniere.
Would you?
Lafreniere, 21, was drafted 1st overall in 2020. He has 17 points in 36 games this season (69 points in 171 career NHL games).
