For the past few weeks, knowing that PK Subban is free as a bird this summer and looking for a new contract, many observers and fans of the Montreal Canadiens have been wondering if Subban could return to Montreal.
Even several years after his trade to the Nashville Preds (for Shea Weber), PK remains a crowd favorite in Montreal.
Considering that he will command a reasonable salary, and likely a short-term contract, many believe that Kent Hughes must sign Subban.
The question is, how interested is PK in returning to Montreal?
HIS AGENT SPEAKS OUT
In the last few hours, columnist Stu Cowan spoke with Don Meehan, Subban's agent.
According to him, it would be very surprising to see PK come back to Montreal, because he would want to sign a contract with an organization that has an excellent chance of winning the Stanley Cup in the very short term.
Considering this and considering the very complex situation of the Habs, in relation to the NHL salary cap, we can say that the verdict is in: PK Subban will not come back to Montreal, at least not this summer.
His agent has obviously confirmed it.
One thing is certain, his intentions are clear and everything is becoming clearer:
