Last night, the Carolina Hurricanes were playing their first game since returning from the Christmas break, and they were facing the worst team in the NHL (the Chicago Blackhawks).
For the occasion, see their employed trios:
Teravainen - Aho - Jarvis
Svechnikov - Stastny - Necas
Martinook - Staal - Fast
Noesen - Kotkaniemi - Stepan
Slavin - Burns
Skjei - Pesce
de Haan - Chatfield
So the worst is confirmed for Jesperi Kotkaniemi, who is back permanently on his team's fourth line (he was his team's second center since the beginning of the season).
Kotkaniemi, 22, has 10 points in 35 games this season, including five goals, and earns $4.82 million per year through 2030.
Do you think he'll stay on the fourth line longer term? That seems to be the plan.
