During the Montreal Canadiens end of season review last Saturday, we learned that Carey Price will have news soon about his health and that Kent Hughes wants a quick answer. (whether Carey will be his starting goalie next season, or not)

We also learned that a new operation is possible for Price.

Well today, a few days later, there is a new development, courtesy of Marc Denis.

Carey Price will meet with an orthopedist, in the next few hours, to get a second medical opinion

Why a second opinion?

As Max Truman (DansLesCoulisses.com) reports, it's quite interesting because Marc Denis said this:

"if the second medical opinion goes the same way as the first, Carey Price will have to have surgery (a second time in less than a year) if he hopes to perhaps become a starting goalie in the NHL again." - Marc Denis

Denis added that the Habs should know more by the end of the week. So this will be a big one to watch and it's a major development.

So the first medical opinion recommended Carey Price to have another surgery. That's pretty major.

Will Carey have a second knee surgery?

Will he need another nine months to recover?

This would be a difficult situation for Kent Hughes, who won't be able to use the 10.5 million in salary on the payroll, but also won't be able to count on Price's services for a long time.

If he really wants to have surgery again, the sooner the better.

Remember that Price admitted last Saturday that his knee could not hold up for 50 or 60 games in its current state.
