Tim Stützle's name has been circulating on social media for the past few hours after being accused of repeated dives by Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher.
The Tricolore's number 11 noted that the young Stützle has taken the habit of exaggerating his falls and faking injuries in order to attract the attention of officials and give his team numerical advantages. (And then he's often up and playing on the power play, seconds after the supposed injury)
This is what happened between the Habs and the Sens 48 hours ago, when Stützle overreacted to a contact with Nick Suzuki. He appeared to be in pain and suffering, but once the penalty was called, he got up and was on the ice for his team's power play.
Finally, this morning, Sens head coach D.J. Smith made sure to mention that Stützle has a knee injury due to the contact with Nick Suzuki.
We were anxious to see if he was going to be consistent tonight, or not. Finally, the verdict: Tim Stützle is out tonight and misses the game.
Is this enough to prove that Gallagher was "in the lineup"? Not necessarily, but it seems to prove that the contact with Suzuki was indeed quite painful.
We can imagine it, anyway...
