While the Pittsburgh Penguins were without the valuable services of their star forward Sidney Crosby for Game Six of their first round series against the New York Rangers, there was a huge development this morning.
After jumping on the ice yesterday with his teammates, Crosby is expected to play tonight! According to reliable Pittsburgh reporter Josh Yohe, #87 will be in uniform for the final game:
"I expect Sidney Crosby and Tristan Jarry to play tonight, barring a big turn of events this morning." And the morning is behind us.
You read that right, there's more. Not only will Crosby be back, but the Penguins' number one goalie, Tristan Jarry, is expected to be in the lineup as well.
This is huge for Pittsburgh!
As Penguins fans and hockey enthusiasts already know, starting goalie Jarry has so far missed the first six games of the 2022 playoffs.
Penguins reporter Dan Kingerski reports that Jarry really wanted to play in Game 6, but the medical staff wouldn't let him.
"That's where Sullivan has a tough decision. No. 1 guard Tristan Jarry feels ready and wants to play. He's very eager to play. A source told PHN that Jarry wanted to play in Game 6 before Sullivan and the medical staff ruled him out." - Dan Kingerski
As for Crosby, in Game Five of the series, he was shaken up following that contact with Jacob Trouba:
Because of this, Crosby had to sit out the sixth game of the series, a game that the Penguins lost (5-3)
Today, there is some news and it's great news for the Penguins! Check out yesterday's images here:
