He may or may not get claimed, but either way, he won't be back in the lineup anytime soon.
As my colleague Vincent Fournier reports, an unusual video of Pitlick just surfaced, and according to many, it could potentially explain why he was waived today.
You be the judge:
It happens at 1 minute and 49 seconds, following Nick Suzuki's absolutely incredible goal on a penalty shot.
It may not seem like a big deal, but it's still odd to see how all the reserve players (Michael Pezzetta, Joel Armia, Michael Matheson, and Corey Schueneman) are all happy, smiling, and having fun, even while in the stands.
The contrast is striking.
In the sequence, everyone is having fun and is happy for Suzuki, except for one person: Rem Pitlick.
Did Pitlick have a harder time accepting his new role? It's hard to say, but knowing how important the atmosphere in the dressing room (and in the stands) is to the Canadiens' management, this could explain it.
Once again, we insist that it is up to you to judge, but know that this is a sequence and a theory that circulates quite a bit on social networks.
Do you think it was a mistake to place Rem Pitlick on waivers?
