Last night, a few hours before the Winnipeg Jets' first game of the season, Quebec forward Pierre-Luc Dubois was unfortunately injured during Friday's game against the Calgary Flames.

He left the game and never came back afterwards.

We don't have more details about the injury, but we know that it's in the lower body and that it looked painful.

Let's really hope it's minor.

Dubois really needs to have a big season (and stay healthy), if he wants an interesting salary increase next summer, as he will be a free agent, after signing a one season contract. (A pretty risky bet)

Dubois, 24, had 60 points and 28 goals in 81 games last season in Winnipeg. With a big season, he could indeed command a very interesting salary increase.

If the injury is serious, it would be very bad news for him, but let's wait and see. In any case, his presence for the Jets' season opener is definitely in danger.

A file to follow!
