We just had a new proof of it.
As reported by our colleagues at Fanadiens and La Poche Bleue, Xhekaj made a significant move for one of the Habs' brightest prospects.
The 26th overall pick in the most recent NHL draft, Filip Mesar, may soon become an important player for Martin St-Louis' team, and his development is very important.
For those who missed this "saga", it was a big deal at the beginning of the season to decide where Mesar would play in 2022-23.
His camp wanted him to play in the AHL, but the Habs preferred the option of allowing him to dominate in the junior ranks.
His rights belong to the Kitchener Rangers, "Jacko's" former organization. As we now know, Mesar was eventually sent to the OHL, and he loves it.
Thanks to Arber Xhekaj for the integration.
We have indeed just learned that none other than Arber Xhekaj had something to do with it, and he played a role in the whole complex process, according to the Slovak.
Xhekaj told him a lot about the Ontario organization during the summer.
Xhekaj also put him in touch with a lot of important people, and that really made it easier for Mesar to move on.
Result: Mesar is doing great, he has 14 points in 13 games, and almost a goal in every two games. We won't go as far as to say that Xhekaj acted as a mediator between Filip Mesar's camp and the Tricolore's management, but both sides are certainly happy today that he could help.
Xhekaj, who knows Kitchener very well after playing almost three seasons there, made it all possible and enjoyable for everyone.
Great leadership by the Sheriff! It will be interesting to continue to watch Mesar in Kitchener.
