Recently on TVA Sports, the journalist Renaud Lavoie came back on the entertaining battle between Nicolas Deslauriers and the young Arber Xhekaj.
As we mentioned a few days ago, we had clearly noticed that after the fight, Deslauriers seemed to address a few words to "Jacko".
We now know what he said to him, thanks to Renaud, and it says a lot about the person Nicolas Deslauriers is:
"Look what happens at the end of the fight, Nicolas Deslauriers runs into Arber Xhekaj and he talks to him. I asked Arber Xhekaj what Nicolas Deslauriers was saying to him? He is a very classy person. He thanked him for the fight, congratulated him and told him to keep doing what he was doing, because he really liked what he was doing in the NHL."
- Renaud Lavoie
Very nice and interesting new information.
We love learning things like this, and we obviously salute the great mark of respect from Deslauriers towards Xhekaj. It must have meant a lot to the kid.
We're talking about one of the most feared big men in the NHL. Renaud then adds this:
"Arber Xhekaj is respected more and more in this league. When a guy like Nicolas Deslauriers takes the time to tell him, it's done with respect. Arber Xhekaj is making his mark more and more in the league."
That bodes well for Xhekaj, it's not coming from just anyone!
Kudos to Deslauriers!
