As reporter James Mirtle reports, the Toronto Maple Leafs could make some major changes this summer to change the recipe a bit and try to finally make it to the second round of the NHL playoffs.
A first announcement has been made in this sense.
William Nylander's name is being bandied about, but he is not the one we are talking about here:
"According to sources, the Maple Leafs have no interest in keeping Petr Mrazek for next season. They don't want to see him back with the team next season." - James Mirtle So in addition to goaltender Jack Campbell, who has yet to have any discussions with Toronto for a new contract, there's also goaltender Petr Mrázek who obviously won't be back in Toronto next year.
Could we see a scenario where the Leafs go into next season with two new goalies? It's definitely possible.
Mrazek, 30, finished the most recent campaign with a 12-6-0 record, a 3.34 goals-against average and a 0.888% save percentage. He also played one game in the AHL. (4 goals on 26 shots)
