The past few days have been extremely positive for young David Reinbacher. After experiencing a huge disappointment at the start of the season and missing a significant portion of the campaign, things are finally turning around for the young defenseman.

After skating solo in recent weeks, he has now had his first practice with his teammates.

He even received a great show of appreciation when he played the hero during a drill, helping the Red team avoid extra laps around the rink.

It's great to see that the rookie is well-liked within the main club.

It seems that Kent Hughes' plan has worked, as he wanted the young player to undergo his rehabilitation within the Canadiens' organization rather than with the Laval Rocket.

He has been spotted multiple times in the press box at the Bell Centre and in the team's locker room, strengthening his connection with his teammates.

Beyond just camaraderie, the goal was also to allow him to continue learning even while injured, as he has been attending team meetings since the start of the season.

Canadiens Veterans Hold David Reinbacher in High Regard

During a recent appearance on the JiC show, Renaud Lavoie added more insights on the topic.

He stated that Reinbacher is so good that it's almost scary.

His talent and skills were extremely impressive to witness during this practice.

Kudos to Adam Nicholas, who did an excellent job preparing him during his solo rehab over the past few weeks.

The Canadiens' director of hockey development has done a remarkable job helping the defenseman regain his mobility and confidence after suffering a serious knee injury.

The hockey insider also shared other interesting details about Reinbacher, particularly regarding the influence of the team's veterans.

During this practice, we saw firsthand the support David Savard provided to the young rookie. The veteran was there to explain drills and offer his advice.

Another veteran, Mike Matheson, also had high praise for Reinbacher.

«He has that little something special.» - Mike Matheson

It was Kent Hughes' decision to keep Reinbacher within the Canadiens' system that allowed the young player to build these strong connections. Now, we can see the importance of those relationships, as not only have the team's veterans embraced him, but the entire squad has.

A Possible Return with the Laval Rocket Soon

Reinbacher's rehabilitation appears to be ahead of schedule. It wouldn't be surprising if he's ready to play sooner rather than later.

While caution will be necessary, Reinbacher could very well join the Laval Rocket to help the team in its playoff push. Pascal Vincent will have the opportunity to give him some ice time while managing his workload.

Hopefully, fans will be understanding of the young defenseman's performance and keep their expectations reasonable for the remainder of the season.

After the disappointment and the entire story surrounding the Canadiens' selection of Reinbacher (especially their decision not to draft Matvei Michkov), the narrative seems to be shifting.

At the start of the season, Michkov was excelling while Reinbacher was sidelined with a long-term injury.

Now, with Reinbacher's return imminent and Michkov facing struggles in Philadelphia, the excitement is building.

Here's proof:

Imagine if Reinbacher ends up being a better NHL player than Matvei Michkov in the long run.

It's far from impossible.

This once-controversial pick is aging better and better.
