Controversial scene during last night's game involving Juraj Slafkovsky and a Canadiens teammate
Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky did not have good chemistry with Mike Matheson at the beginning of the season. Martin St-Louis had corrected that.
We're talking here about the Canadiens' power play. It was a topic that was causing a lot of buzz a few months ago.
Many fans had made video montages showing how unfortunately Matheson was having difficulty spotting the young Slafkovsky, especially on the power play. (Slaf never received the pass)
This is something the coaches corrected, and Martin St-Louis had clearly intervened.
However, just when it seemed like the issue had been resolved, those problems clearly resurfaced last night against the Edmonton Oilers.
Fans were numerous on social media to criticize the fact that Slafkovsky never received the passes yesterday, even when he was completely open and unmarked.
Here is an example.
A wide-open Juraj Slafkovsky waits for a pass but Mike Matheson keeps it.

Posts like this have resurfaced:
In short, this will be something to watch in the next game against the Vancouver Canucks, and we are convinced that it is not intentional on the part of an excellent quarterback like Matheson, but it can become frustrating for a young player, especially since Slafkovsky is capable of scoring a lot.
He has a good shot. He has shown us that several times! (even if he's not using it enough yet)
