The Montreal Canadiens prospect is having an outstanding season with Boston College. His record of 17-3-1 this season, along with a .938 save percentage and a 1.63 goals-against average, is proof of that.
But Fowler's success in the NCAA didn't just start this season-it began as soon as he entered the league.
Fowler seems nearly unbeatable in the NCAA. Since joining the Boston College Eagles in the fall of 2023, he has only suffered 11 losses in 61 games.
That means he has accumulated 49 wins in less than two years. That's impressive, but not as much as the nine shutouts he has recorded in that span. He has as many shutouts as regulation-time losses (9) since arriving in the NCAA.
This season, Fowler has already achieved six shutouts in just 22 games-twice as many as his regulation losses this year (3).
Wow.
Do we need to remind you that Fowler is only 20 years old?
Given his age, Fowler could stay in the NCAA for two more seasons. The question is whether he still has things to learn in college or if he will be ready to turn pro at the end of this season.
If the second option is chosen by both Fowler and the Canadiens' management, it remains to be seen whether the prolific goaltender will need to go through the Laval Rocket before making the jump to the NHL.
In an interview last fall with Marco D'Amico via the excellent platform RG.org, Fowler stated that he wants to take his time. He has goals to achieve before moving on to the next step.
The future of the 69th overall pick in the 2023 draft remains uncertain.
However, we will have a better idea of what's next once Boston College has completed its season.
One thing is certain: when he arrives in Montreal, he will be a major reinforcement for the Canadiens!
