The Montreal Canadiens have just made their first official announcement of this summer season.

Kent Hughes has confirmed the signing of young forward Jared Davidson, an excellent decision because Davidson was set to become a free agent tomorrow night.
The Canadiens were on the verge of losing his rights.
See an excerpt from the official statement.
"The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, announced on Friday that the organization has agreed to the terms of a two-season entry-level contract (2024-2025 to 2025-2026) with forward Jared Davidson.

Davidson played 38 games in 2023-2024 with the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League, earning 16 points (11G, 5A) in his first professional season. The 21-year-old center ranked third among Rocket rookies in goals, behind Logan Mailloux and Joshua Roy."

The three remaining prospects are Petteri Nurmi, Cédrick Guindon, and Miguel Tourigny.
Kent Hughes has until tomorrow, 5:00 PM, to sign them, otherwise, these three prospects will become free agents and the Canadiens will lose their rights.
If we return to Jared Davidson, he is a 21-year-old center who can also play on the wing. He was a solid selection by Kent Hughes in the fifth round of the 2022 draft in Montreal.
This season, he scored 11 goals in 38 games with the Laval Rocket, after tallying 38 goals and 82 points in 60 games during his last season with the Seattle Thunderbirds. The previous season, he had 89 points, including 42 goals, in 64 games.
