The TVA Sports network has an update regarding a trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Carolina Hurricanes involving Martin Necas.
After very intense weeks, it's now calm in this matter, a month after Necas's father mentioned a possible imminent trade involving his son.
«I will be very surprised if Martin Necas plays for Carolina next season.
As his father said, Martin wants to play on the 1st line and on the 1st power play unit. His father even said in an interview for Denik Sport: 'Martin wants to be traded.' In my eyes, Necas is a great offensive winger.»

This was mentioned by Necas's father, as we reported to you.
Today, TVA Sports has reignited the discussion.
A contract and a trade for Martin Necas?
This comes directly from an interview on the NHL's official site with the new GM of the Hurricanes.
«The Carolina Hurricanes and restricted free agent Martin Necas have a meeting scheduled with an arbitrator on August 4 to settle their contractual dispute, but the team's general manager, Eric Tulsky, remains hopeful of reaching an agreement before then.»
- TVA Sports
Does this mean the possibility of a trade involving Martin Necas and the Montreal Canadiens has disappeared? Not at all.
«A trade remains a possibility for the 25-year-old forward, who was the subject of numerous rumors earlier this summer. Dissatisfied with his role on the team and his contract negotiations, Necas apparently wanted a change of scenery.»
- TVA Sports
We thought it would have been done by now, but Hurricanes GM Eric Tulsky is still involved in discussions for a possible trade involving Necas.
«We continue to talk to teams and don't want to miss an opportunity to improve our team, but teams have less flexibility than in June, so it's difficult to find a deal,» he added, as reported by TVA Sports.
So this is a matter we will continue to monitor over the coming weeks, especially since Kent Hughes has accustomed us to unexpected trades in August over the past two years.
We can think of those involving Sean Monahan, Jeff Petry, Mike Matheson, and others.
Tulsky adds that, in the case of Seth Jarvis, it should be easier to sign him because the player is determined to stay in Carolina, which seems to differentiate him from Martin Necas, according to what we understand from Tulsky's comments.
The chances of seeing Necas being traded are still very real.
