In episode two of the documentary on the Montreal Canadiens' rebuild, head coach Martin St-Louis made an interesting statement.

He shared a thought on the relationship between the team and its fans.

When participating in press conferences, St-Louis doesn't simply see them as exchanges with the media but rather as an opportunity to speak directly to the fans.

«It's definitely demanding (doing so many press conferences) but I know I'm not talking to the media, I'm talking to the public. Communication with our fans is very important. I want them to understand what we're trying to do.»

- Martin St-Louis

Martin St-Louis is aware that his numerous press conferences are necessary

For him, this communication is essential to help fans understand the team's vision and what they are trying to achieve.

This perspective highlights how much St-Louis values fan engagement and their involvement in the team's rebuilding process.

This transparent approach is a key aspect of the bond between the coach and Canadiens fans, a way to strengthen support and trust.

It's true that Martin St-Louis gives a lot of press conferences-probably more than one per day on average-but it doesn't seem to bother him.

He's good at it, because even I sometimes find it excessive, though it's obviously part of being a head coach in the NHL, especially in a market like Montreal.

He handles it like a pro, and he makes a great point.
