NHL player safety punishes Arber Xhekaj for his actions on Cedric Pare
Montreal Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj has just been penalized by the NHL's disciplinary committee.
The good news is that he is not suspended!
His penalty is a fine of $3,385.42.

George Parros and his team have made their decision. Journalist Arpon Basu seems to believe Xhekaj was lucky to avoid a suspension...
But I do believe the league may have wanted to make up for not calling a penalty on the play.
Let's recall that last night, early in the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Bell Centre, forward Patrik Laine was injured following contact with Cédric Paré.
A few minutes later, Arber Xhekaj rushed at Paré to avenge his Finnish teammate.
Following this announcement from the NHL's head of discipline, there have been some interesting suggestions on social media.
It will be interesting to see if Arber Xhekaj will have to pay his fine, but something tells me that won't be the case.
We are now watching for a possible penalty for Toronto Maple Leafs forward Cédric Paré.
