During an episode with Jean-Charles Lajoie and Greg Lanctot, entrepreneur Olivier Primeau, who is also a big sports fan, talked specifically about Cole Caufield.

In a segment where the three guys were discussing salaries and new realities in the sports world, Primeau specifically talked about Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki.

Olivier Primeau has a strong opinion on the contracts signed by Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki

Here are some quotes, but the full segment is at the bottom for a better understanding of the exact context.

We give huge contracts to Suzuki and Caufield, who have done nothing. They've done nothing, nothing, nothing.

- Olivier Primeau

Greg then responded that Suzuki deserved his contract last season.

To which Primeau replied that the Canadiens didn't make the playoffs.

They didn't make the playoffs. They did nothing. [...] I understand, but they still didn't do anything to earn 8 million. I'm not saying it's not good in the long run.

We've changed our vision, we pay for the future, we don't pay for the past.

- Olivier Primeau, who also compared these contracts to those given to Carey Price and Brendan Gallagher

Check out the segment here:

Personally, I believe the contracts for Caufield and Suzuki are excellent for the Montreal Canadiens, but obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Nick Suzuki, 25, scored 77 points in 82 games last season, including 33 goals, and he's earning $7.875 million per year until 2030.

Cole Caufield, 23, scored 65 points in 82 games last season, including 28 goals, and he's earning $7.85 million per year until 2031.

What about you, do you think these are good contracts for the Habs?
