In the last few minutes, Martin St-Louis and the Canadiens have learned that they are likely to avoid the monster Andrei Vasilevskiy.

This is obviously excellent news, and an announcement that drastically increases the Habs' chances of victory.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have indeed announced that unless there is a major turnaround, it will not be their number one star goalie who will face the Canadiens tomorrow, and it's not even their number two goalie.

Matt Tomkins against Cayden Primeau, tomorrow, at the Bell Centre?

It is indeed their third goalie, Matt Tomkins, who is apparently going to be sent to the net tomorrow night against the Montreal Canadiens.

"It seems that Matt Tomkins will start and be in the net tomorrow in Montreal for a second game in two nights. I asked Coach Jon Cooper about the availability of Jonas Johansson for tomorrow's game, and he responded that he was out. Tomkins won his first NHL victory at the Bell Centre on November 7."

- Eduardo A. Encina, Tampa Bay reporter

Tomkins, a 29-year-old goalie who has played a total of 3 games in his NHL career, has a record of 1-2-0, a goals against average per game of 3.40, and a save percentage of .889.

He has primarily been an AHL or ECHL goalie in recent years.

He will be facing Cayden Primeau.
Primeau has a record of 8-7-2 this season, a goals against average per game of 2.75, and a save percentage of .913 with two shutouts.

A story to follow, but it's good news for the CH's chances of victory tomorrow, and good news for those hoping to see the first line rack up points again.

Details to follow.
