The Canadiens have announced the passing of former player Paul Masnick

In the last few seconds, a sad death was announced by the Montreal Canadiens organization.

The organization's former center player, Paul Masnick, has just passed away at the age of 92. We offer our deepest condolences to his loved ones and family.

"Masnick passed away at the age of 92 and he was the oldest surviving member of the Canadiens' 1953 Stanley Cup champion team."

Masnick, born in 1931, was a 5-foot-9-inch, 165-pound right-handed center. He accumulated 60 points, including 18 goals, in 232 career NHL games, and he played the majority of his career with the Montreal Canadiens.

As the official statement specifies, he was the oldest surviving member of the Montreal Canadiens' 1953 Stanley Cup-winning team.

"Paul Masnick, the oldest surviving member of the Montreal Canadiens' 1953 Stanley Cup victory, has passed away at the age of 92.

Masnick played 232 games in the NHL from 1950 to 1958 with Montreal, Chicago, and Toronto, scoring 18 goals and 59 points during that time."
