Following Nick Suzuki's goal last night in Colorado, with an assist from Juraj Slafkovsky, the NHL has officially announced a change.

Initially, only one assist had been credited on the goal scored by the captain, and it had been awarded to David Savard.

Eventually, after a review, the NHL indeed acknowledged Slafkovsky's pass and made the change.

Watch the goal in question here:

"An assist has been added to Juraj Slafkovsky on Nick Suzuki's goal, and he thus reaches the 40-point mark this season.

Many of us said in September that it would be significant progress if he reached this milestone.

Now, will he make it to 50?" - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin

Wow, very solid!

"They added an assist to Juraj Slafkovsky on Suzuki's goal. This marks an eight-game streak with at least one point for the 19-year-old, 40 points this season, and 32 points in his last 40 games." - Arpon Basu

It's worth noting that the young Slafkovsky had only 7 points in 24 games at one point this season.

Seeing him reach the 40-point milestone, at just 19 years old, is certainly noteworthy and extremely exciting for the future.

This is big for the future of the Canadiens!

The excellent Chantal Machabée also reacted to the news:

It will indeed be intriguing to see Slafkovsky's ceiling in the coming years!
