Acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets along with a second-round pick in exchange for Jordan Harris, the Finnish forward had requested a trade from the Blue Jackets during the offseason, which unfortunately sparked rumors that Laine had a bad attitude.
However, as reported by the site *DansLesCoulisses*, one should take these rumors with a grain of salt, as an insider made a statement that sheds light on the Columbus Blue Jackets franchise.
During a recent appearance on Tony Marinaro's podcast, TSN's Craig Button somewhat lost patience with those who said Patrik Laine had an attitude problem in Columbus.
Essentially, what the expert meant with this statement is that the Blue Jackets aren't necessarily a very interesting franchise for the NHL, and the organization has never really experienced success in its history.
Apart from eliminating the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the playoffs in 2019, one can't say that the team has a rich history, like that of the Canadiens, for example.
Now that Laine will be playing for the Tricolore in the coming weeks, it's likely that he'll rediscover his passion for hockey in Montreal and, who knows, regain his scoring touch.
