Major last-minute announcement from the Kraken involving Shane Wright and Montreal Canadiens fans are eager to see the outcome
Particularly because he plays in the AHL, we hear much less about him, but that's about to change.
As he is having a historic season for someone his age in the American League, young Shane Wright has just been called up to the NHL by the Kraken!
It's happening!
This will obviously be a new opportunity (unfortunately) for many Montreal Canadiens fans and observers to make comparisons with Juraj Slafkovsky.
Wright, 19 years old, has accumulated 16 points, including 9 goals, in 18 games this season.
He was of course drafted 4th overall in 2022 by Seattle and is on track to collect 61 points, which would allow him to join Patrice Bergeron in seventh place among the top U-20 scorers in a single season in the American League.
And just the fact that he can be called up from the AHL is historic. (he got a special permission from the CHL)
That's no small feat!
We are eager to see if he can carry his AHL success into the NHL.
Do you believe it?
