Another unusual situation just occurred with the Philadelphia Flyers, as Daniel Brière received some very disappointing news related to a prospect in the organization.
After Cutter Gauthier failed to show up for the development camp in recent days even though he was invited, not even offering a reason to the team's GM, another young player has just snubbed the Flyers.
Promising goaltender Igor Fedotov just played a nasty trick on Brière by not joining the team for the upcoming season, even though he has an NHL contract in hand.
Even worse, he has agreed to two seasons with CSKA Moscow, becoming the first player to betray his agreement with the National League since March 2022, since the memorandum of understanding between the two leagues was dissolved.
This is a situation Philadelphia could have done without, especially after setting their sights on Matvei Michkov in the first round, another young Russian with a risk surrounding his arrival or non-arrival in North America.
