A generational female talent, so much so that she even attracts the attention of National Hockey League teams, no less.
At just 15 years old, the young woman shattered the Women's Under-18 World Hockey Championship last January. (10 goals, 9 assists, for a total of 19 points, in just 5 games)
The young player repeated this feat on February 26th, her 15th birthday. She finished her game with 10 goals and 9 assists to help VLCI Zilina defeat Kosice 24-1. Yes, she collected 19 points in a single game.
A generational female talent.
But that's not all. Lopusanova also plays in a U16 men's league in Slovakia. She currently ranks second in scoring, with 43 points in 14 games. (easily the most productive player on her team)
Her stats page is mind-boggling:
40 points in 6 games
43 points in 14 games (men's hockey)
49 points in 8 games
24 points in 9 games
In short, she is very dominant.
Some even think that Lopusanova could be the first woman drafted into the NHL. Others are getting really excited and even believe she could be a first-round pick, but let's wait and see.
Let's just say that the 2026 draft is still a long way off; but they are basing this on the fact that she has been more productive than Juraj Slafkovsky, in the same league.
Nela Lopusanova is coming to North America and fans are loving it!
She will actually continue her hockey career in the United States. It's a very big decision for the young lady, but she was simply too strong to stay at home.
After finishing her season in Slovakia, she will move and join the ranks of Bishop Kearney, in New York. It is expected that she will then move on to the NCAA.
It will be really interesting to watch her development and let's hope she can benefit from the best possible support.
Remember her name. Her popularity has risen, following this goal:
