In the context of an article just published by Marc Antoine Godin and Arpon Basu, we learned that the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, has already made a big decision.

He has announced to his team of scouts and consultants that the Canadiens will not acquire young goalie Carter Hart.

"The 24-year-old goalie can be seen as an interesting option given that he is still progressing and has a chance to become one of the good goalies in the NHL. But even if the age curve and the Canadiens' desire to improve in front of the net could make Hart an interesting option, the organization has decided that it will not pursue this avenue. The motivation behind this choice is not clear, but the situation was described to us as being not feasible." - Marc-Antoine Godin

And he has very good sources.

So, even if Hart is indeed currently available on the trade market (Daniel Brière was very clear about this with other general managers), the CH has no interest in him.

The link seemed very logical, because he is a very promising young goalie and because Kent Hughes has openly mentioned that he would like to add a new impact goalie, but we have to look elsewhere.

Are you disappointed? Probably the asking price is too high.

Hart, 24, has a career efficiency rate of 0.906, including 0.917 in his rookie season. He has immense potential.
