Huge last-minute development on a trade involving Alexis Lafrenière
In the last few minutes, New York journalist Arthur Staple has published a major update on a possible trade involving Quebecois forward Alexis Lafrenière, the top overall pick in 2020.
The New York Rangers are currently shopping Alexis Lafrenière.
Wow. So he's officially on the trade market, and for obvious reasons, his name has already been linked to the Montreal Canadiens.
This is a story to keep a close eye on over the next few hours!
Lafrenière, 21 years old, amassed 39 points in 81 games in 2023.
Let's of course remember that it was Jeff Gorton who drafted him as the 1st overall pick in 2020.
UPDATE:
Another source has contradicted the original statement, suggesting that Alexis Lafreniere will remain in New York.
Stay tuned!
