It could very well happen in the next few minutes.

See what the renowned journalist Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet just published.

There is a serious attempt to make a trade involving Erik Karlsson today. It would involve Pittsburgh, San Jose, and at least one other team to facilitate the dollars. We will see how this unfolds... but everyone is working in that direction.

As for the fans of the Montreal Canadiens, there are two things to potentially watch out for in this file. First, could Kent Hughes be involved, as a 3rd team, by retaining part of Karlsson's salary to acquire a draft pick?

Secondly, could former CH member Jeff Petry be involved? This seems very likely at this stage.
