For quite obvious reasons, Jeff Petry's name keeps coming up in trade rumors since his acquisition by the Montreal Canadiens earlier this month.

Many rumors suggest that the Habs are already actively trying to trade Petry and that Kent Hughes is working on this.

It's rare to see this, but this rumor has just been confirmed on the official website of the Canadiens. Wow.

"The Habs are reporting their own trade rumors. It's on the official app (and on the official website) of the Tricolore."

The headline is quite clear. "The Habs are trying to trade Petry."

It's not the surprise of the century, but it's still interesting to find this on the official website of the Canadiens.

Petry, 35, is a 6-foot-3, 209-pound defenseman. He scored 31 points in 61 games last season and has 353 career points in the NHL (in 864 games).

He was re-acquired by the Habs, much to his surprise, on August 6th in the trade involving Mike Hoffman, Rem Pitlick, Casey DeSmith, Nathan Légaré, and Erik Karlsson.

Do you believe he will start the season in the Blue-White-Red uniform?
