While the Montreal Canadiens are currently on the ice, preparing for tonight's game against the Arizona Coyotes, Martin St-Louis has just revealed his cards.
We have been closely monitoring the status of young Anthony Richard, who was recently recalled from the Laval Rocket, and it is likely that he will finally be in uniform!
"It's done. (Richard will play tonight) To the left of Jake Evans." - Simon-O. Lorange He adds this:
"Anthony Richard is on the ice with the Canadiens in Tempe. If he plays tonight against the Coyotes, he will become:
- The 3rd Richard in club history, after Maurice and Henri
- the 3rd number 90, after Joé Juneau and Tomas Tatar
You're welcome." It's now visibly confirmed. Given that he's on the fourth line at his team's practice today, he'll play tonight, barring a big turnaround.
Richard finally gets his much deserved chance with the Habs. He has been sensational this season with the Laval Rocket with 31 points in only 27 games (18 goals).
He is among the best players in the American Hockey League since the beginning of the season and it will be very interesting to see what he will bring to the Tricolore.
Richard, 25, is a former Val d'Or Foreurs and a former 100th overall pick of the Nashville Preds in 2015.
