Luke Richardson finally agrees to comment on the Corey Perry Saga breaking his silence for the first time
As the routine slowly resumes with the Chicago Blackhawks, following the storm of recent days, it was today the turn of head coach Luke Richardson to be questioned about Corey Perry.
The journalists there were numerous to ask him the question.
Richardson finally agreed to comment on the situation surrounding the 38-year-old veteran and former Montreal Canadien, thus breaking the silence for the very first time on this subject.
"I recommended my good faith on a guy like him to come here, and he was doing his job on the ice. Other than that, I don't really know what went on still, off the ice. It's obviously disappointing that we're in this situation but there's no real second-guessing it. We signed him as a really good player to help us in our time of transition here, and he showed he's done that in the past. It's unfortunate we're now in the situation we're in." - Luke Richardson, via Ben Pop
With his answers, we understand that Richardson doesn't really know more than us about the details, and anyway, that's quite alright.
We also quickly notice that he seems to be really disappointed with how things turned out with his veteran Perry, who was doing very well on the ice.
It should be noted that Luke Richardson knew Corey Perry very well, as the two men also worked together within the Montreal Canadiens organization during the famous playoff run in the 2020-2021 season.
One thing is certain, on the hockey front, Richardson has just lost a solid ally, on the ice and in the locker room.
