A terrible tragedy has just struck forward Vladimir Tarasenko
In the past few minutes, we have learned that forward Vladimir Tarasenko, who recently hoisted the Stanley Cup, has received some terrible news.
The player who played a key role for the Florida Panthers has just learned that his father has passed away.
Let's say that, unfortunately, it drastically cuts short a summer of celebrations and championship festivities.
We extend our deepest condolences to him and his entire family. It breaks our hearts.
Vladimir Tarasenko's father, Andrei Tarasenko, has passed away
Mr. Tarasenko passed away suddenly, but we do not have all the details surrounding this tragedy at the moment.
We only know that the news was confirmed by HC Sabir.
He was only 56 years old, imagine that... Still so young.
Andrei Tarasenko was an extremely involved and respected figure in the hockey world.
He had a very long playing career in his native country, from 1984 to 2006, during which he notably amassed 57 points in 44 games with Torpedo in 1994, as well as 54 points in 50 games in 1995.
He was also a head coach in the KHL from 2009 to 2012.
We send positive thoughts to the Tarasenko family and the extended HC Sabir family.
Rest in peace, Andrei Tarasenko.
