We are surprised to see that TVA Sports is already thinking about potential acquisitions for the summer of 2025 for the Tricolore, but please note that they have targeted some big names.
Four of them caught our attention.
Knowing that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will have a lot of money to spend next summer on the NHL free-agent market, and knowing that they will be in an ideal position to make a big move, here are the names highlighted in their article.
In fact, here is the complete list.
Brock Nelson - Aged 32, the 6-foot-4 center scored 69 points in 82 games last season.
Brock Boeser - Aged 27, the 6-foot-1 winger scored 73 points in 81 games last season.
Nikolaj Ehlers - Aged 28, the 6-foot winger scored 61 points in 82 games last season.
Frank Vatrano - Aged 30, the 5-foot-11 winger scored 60 points in 82 games last season (37 goals).
Taylor Hall - Aged 32, the 6-foot-1 winger scored 40 points in his last 71 games.
Claude Giroux - Aged 36, the 5-foot-11 winger scored 64 points in 82 games last season.
Gustav Nyquist - Aged 34, the 5-foot-11 winger scored 75 points in 81 games last season.
So these are all the names mentioned, but the four that really catch our attention are Brock Boeser, Nikolas Ehlers, Taylor Hall, and Claude Giroux.
The first three, because they could be pillars for the Montreal Canadiens' attack for a good while and they could make a big difference for Martin St-Louis, while Giroux could be an exceptional addition to the locker room for the young players (and he is still an excellent hockey player).
If we compare with the Dallas Stars, he could be the «Joe Pavelski» of the Montreal Canadiens.
And you, which one would you target?
Please note that names like Mitch Marner, John Tavares, Sidney Crosby, Leon Draisaitl, and Mikko Rantanen could also be available as free agents, but let's wait and see.
