As a trade involving Ben Chiarot seems increasingly imminent and as the New York Rangers are increasingly linked to the Montreal Canadiens for a potential trade, speculation are heating up.

A trade between the two teams could be imminent, even according to Pierre Lebrun of The Athletic.

The name of the Russian prospect Vitali Kravtsov circulates a lot. Marc Bergevin was interested and everything indicates that Jeff Gorton is also very interested.

According to Marco D'Amico, who regularly appears on TSN690 and 91.9 Sports, Kravtsov is clearly a target for Jeff Gorton.

He received information to that effect.

D'Amico even said he had a feeling that Vitaly Kravtsov will be part of the Canadiens' organization by the trade deadline.

«I got a tip that he's in Gorton's sights". - D'Amico

Let's add that the new co-director of amateur scouting for the Canadiens, Nick Bobrov, knows Kravtsov very well, because he had convinced Jeff Gorton to draft him in 2018 during the first round and the fact that the two now find themselves in Montreal could maybe convince the young Russian to join the Canadians.

The 22-year-old right-winger is currently playing in the KHL, where he has 13 points in 19 games and played 20 games with the Rangers last season.

Do you believe Kravtsov will be a Habs player sooner rather than later?

Especially since Kent Hughes mentioned earlier this week that he would rather go for young prospects instead of draft picks, in order to speed up the rebuild of the team.
