After the young Alexis Lafrenière in the last few weeks, another Quebec forward has found himself at the center of big rumors involving a possible withdrawal from the lineup.
Anthony Mantha in troubled waters?
The rumor has just been confirmed and forward Anthony Mantha will be left out of the Washington Capitals' lineup today against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Wow.
You can guess that many speculations about a possible trade are circulating a lot on the web, but well, let's wait and see.
This is a big decision by the Caps head coach and it will be interesting to see the impact of this.
Mantha, 28, 6-foot-5 and 234 pounds, was drafted 20th overall in 2013. He has 23 points (9 goals) in 42 games this season with Washington.
He had solid 38 points in 43 games and 48 points in 67 games with the Detroit Red Wings (nearly 75 points per 82 games).
He earns $5.7 million per season until 2024, when he will be free as a bird.
More details to follow.
