Yesterday, we learned that Jonathan Drouin would deliver an exclusive interview with Chantal Machabée on September 20. This will be Drouin's first media appearance since he left the team last season for personal reasons.

This is great news for the Quebec forward, as he has obviously been able to put his life in order by taking a step back. However, looking at the situation as it is, we absolutely must learn a lesson from this situation, according to Daniel Richard and Maxime Van Houtte. In a column broadcast on 91.9 sports, they gave their impressions on the whole situation.

According to Van Houtte, Drouin is an incredible person, who is particularly nice. Often people have criticized the number 92, because he did his interviews sitting. However, this is not seen in an arrogant way.

"He's a very voluble guy in his own way, I never found him arrogant." - Maxime Van Houtte

The host also has a huge wish for Jonathan Drouin from fans and the media. People will have to remember what happened. We have to stop the harassment of him. Quebec's motto "Je me souviens" (I remember) needs to take effect, and it needs to take effect now.

"I hope it will be remembered. On the other hand, it doesn't mean we can't criticize Jonathan Drouin if he's having a tougher time, but I hope we'll show more understanding." - Maxime Van Houtte

Daniel Richard went on to support Van Houtte's comments.

"The media and the fans have shown a lot of sympathy for Jonathan Drouin. I really hope we remember that in November if he goes 15 games without a point. It will be a good exercise for the media, but also for the fans to know if we are where we think we are in society. Will we be able to differentiate between the personal problems a player may have and the performance of the athlete? I hope Drouin will show everyone that people were right not to give up on him." - Daniel Richard

He ended his column by pointing out a very interesting fact. According to him, the fact of being indulgent towards the players could motivate the star players to come and play in Montreal.

"I hope we can support our Quebec players. Maybe by doing that, it will attract star players to Montreal." - Daniel Richard

This column should absolutely make us think and help us to introspect about ourselves. Jonathan Drouin deserves our love and he will need it when he returns to the game.
