There will be something new this season when the Habs play a game at the Bell Centre.
Since the Habs' training complex in Brossard was opened in 2008, the team used to practice there on home game days. However, this routine is now a thing of the past, as the Habs will hold their morning practice session directly at the Bell Centre instead of the Brossard training complex.
The reason for this? According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, it is the absence of Carey Price that allowed the Habs to modify this routine. During his appearance on the JiC show, the journalist mentioned that Price preferred to train in Brossard at all times.
"The ice changes over the course of a week [shows, outside temperature...] and skating on it the morning of a game is also taming it.
It was the opposing teams that were taking advantage of it, not the Canadiens. I salute this decision by the players, which I think is the right one. We're taking back control of the amphitheatre."
Lavoie even added that it was a request from number 31 to train in Brossard instead of the Bell Center and let's just say that the journalist is not too disappointed with this change.
In this way, the Habs somehow take back their amphitheater, but we must admit that it shows how much Price was leading the organization.
Now that he's on the injured list, Martin St-Louis' men will be able to tame the Bell Centre ice on game days.
