During Monday's game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Arizona Coyotes, many fans and journalists thought they noticed that Quebec forward Jonathan Drouin had invited defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere to drop down the gloves.
Yes yes, Jonathan Drouin.
It must be said that Gostisbehere had just hit young Juraj Slafkovsky, and so, Drouin went to pass a message in addition to defend his young teammate.
Watch:
Gostisbehere seemed to decline Drouin's invitation.
In short, during his most recent press conference, the #27 forward of the Montreal Canadiens confirmed this rumor.
Drouin did invite Gostisbehere for a little dance at center ice. However, that's as far as it went.
"I didn't see the check. I only saw Slaf on the floor. For once, he was my size. I've been in a fight before in junior, but it hadn't gone my way." - Jonathan Drouin
It says a lot about the culture that's currently taking hold in the locker room and it says a lot about Drouin's commitment. We love it!
Remember, Jonathan is expected to be the Habs' second center tonight. He is really excited about this opportunity.
