As you know, the fans of the Montreal Canadiens love Marc-André Fleury. We saw that quite clearly last Thursday at the Bell Centre.

There have been some rumors over the years regarding Fleury and the Montreal Canadiens, but did Marc-André really come close to playing for the Habs?

His agent addressed the question, live on TVA Sports, during an interview with journalist Renaud Lavoie.

Marc-André Fleury's agent comments on rumors involving the Montreal Canadiens and his client

Watch the exchange with Renaud Lavoie.

Question:

"Was there ever a time, at any point during Marc-André's career, when you thought he would play for the Montreal Canadiens?"

Agent's answer:

"Yes, there were a few moments where we believed it, there were a few moments where there were discussions about it, yes, but the 'timing' just never really worked out, and for a large part of Marc-André's career, the Canadiens obviously had Carey Price, an amazing goalie, a future Hall of Famer.

It just never really came together."

We highly recommend the full interview:

It's really interesting, and well said by Allan Walsh.

I love that he wasn't afraid to speak out and confirm that there were discussions with the Canadiens.

Marc-André Fleury, now 40 years old, has a career record of 572 wins (335 losses) in the National Hockey League with a goals-against average of 2.60 and a save percentage of 0.912.

This season, he has a record of 11-5-1, with a 2.60 GAA and a 0.908 save percentage, which is very solid.
