The New Jersey Devils received some bad news on Friday. Lindy Ruff's team has been without the services of their 2019 first-round pick, Jack Hughes, for the past ten days.
Today, we learned that the Devils' center will be away from the NHL rinks for a minimum of five weeks. The 20-year-old forward dislocated his left shoulder in the second game of the season against the Seattle Kraken.
Hughes will not require surgery, but will have to work with the Devils' medical staff. He will be re-evaluated in five weeks.
The Devils' young player is in his third season in the pros. In his first season, he scored 21 points in 61 games. Last year, he increased his offensive production by ten points with five games played. He had a great start to the season, scoring two goals and an assist in his first two games.
Do you think this absence will hurt the Devils?
