The season has only just begun, but the Tricolore's start has left most fans hungry for more. After reaching the Stanley Cup Final, expectations for Dominique Ducharme's team were certainly high. However, they will have to be lowered quite quickly...

On the blue line, would the Canadiens' head coach be interested in some backup? If so, there is an option in Ottawa that could prove to be very interesting. It is the young Swedish defenseman Erik Brannstrom.

Brannstrom is only 22 years old. Last year, he had 13 points in 30 games with the Senators. He could greatly help the Tricolore on the power play, which once again seems to be problematic this year.

In addition to his small size, the Swedish defenseman also has some shortcomings on defense. It is probably this aspect of his game that is currently preventing him from establishing himself as a regular in the NHL.

However, as suggested by Shawn Simpson of TSN, the price to acquire him would be relatively low. So why not take a chance?

Would you take a chance on Brannstrom if you were Marc Bergevin?
