As you know, in 2018, the Washington Capitals finally won the Stanley Cup and proved that they are capable of winning in the playoffs.
On the other hand, minutely, since then, the Caps have not been able to get through the first round.
On Friday, after the game, Alex Ovechkin made a big statement:
"I think you all saw how we played against the best team in the regular season. We had it, but we blew it. That's our fault. It's my fault, it's Backy's (Backstrom) fault, it's Osh's (Oshie) fault, it's Carly's (Carlson) fault. It's everybody's fault. It's really a shi*tty situation." - Alex Ovechkin
Ovechkin, who has been suffering from a shoulder injury for quite some time, admitted to having to use injections and little magic pills to be able to play. It's not illegal at all, we're talking about painkillers here, but it's a big deal because it's really rare to see a player talk about it so openly.
I hit the boards and I hit my shoulder, but in the playoffs, I don't think it's a big deal (to be sore). If it hurts, you have injections to take and you have magic pills. You have to play." - Ovechkin
