Kent Hughes and currently in Finland to analyze prospects for the upcoming NHL draft. If Shane Wright is at least unanimous among the experts to go out at the very first level, another prospect is starting to cast doubt. That prospect is Slovakian forward Juraj Slafkovsky.
The 18 year old is a real eye opener at the World Championships. At 6-foot-4 and 218 pounds, he has all the makings of a power forward. After accumulating 10 points in 31 games in the Liiga with TPS, he is currently having a great tournament with a collection of 3 points in 4 games. His performances are even starting to make the pro-Wright's doubtful.
David Ettedgui, who is certain that the Ontario prospect will go out in the first round, launched on his social media, his dream scenario. This dream is to see the CH deal with the New Jersey Devils, in order to obtain, in addition to the first, their second choice to reunite the duo Wright/Slafkovsky.
Imagine the scenario, Gary Bettman comes to the microphone after Hughes selects Wright and announces that the CH has traded for the second pick. The Bell Centre would go wild!
Even if it is possible, this dream is unlikely to happen. Ettedgui asks what fans would be willing to give up to get that second pick. Here's what came out:
And you, what would be your offer?
